1955-56 CHEVY MANUAL RACK CRADLE KIT - POLISHED COLUMN SHIFT TILT COLUMN
Flaming River has now engineered the popular rack and pinion cradle systems for the 55-57 Chevy with power or manual steering. This system replaces the early long shaft steering box with an optional new Tilt column. All mounting hardware, pump, bracket, reservoir and universal joints are also included for a complete kit—hoses are sold separately. By mounting the rack on the cradle system, we not only reinforce the chassis, but also provide increased ground clearance. This true fixture welded mounting cradle fits between the frame rails and bolts in place using the original chassis location. No suspension modification is required and the system installs easily with hand tools. Full turning radius is engineered into the system.
